trim and ceiling are both white. We have very dark green vintage/romance looking couches with mahagony trim. The doors are vintage paneled doors with loads of character (key locks, crystal door knobs and so on). we have wood floors. Now what? artwork? What kinds? Accessories, what kinds, colors? There is also a flat screen atop a ceder chest until we hang it. All ideas would be helpful. How do we pull this room together and make it work. We plan on doing roman blinds for the window treatments.

Wall color for a modern bedroom…?

Hey guys,

I need your help with painting my boyfriend’s bedroom. He’s 25, his taste is definetely modern, and right now his bedroom colors are white, black, blue. He has black furniture and black window blinds with no window treatments. The rug is made up of squares with different shades of blue with a few gray tones in it and it takes up half of the room. The room is fairly average(I don’t know the exact measurements-but it’s a perfect square) and his flooring is a honey colored wood. What color should I do his walls and what decorating technique? I was thinking like an ash-blue and the technique suede. Need some more ideas! Thanks!

Plus, I wanted to add some red to the decor but he’s afraid it might be too harsh or loud. Any suggestions with that either?

Teen Room Colors?

For Christmas, my parents are letting me re-decorate my room. The last time I decorated it, I was 10 years old. I’m now 14. Its a Really light Lavender, and with the lighting in my room, it looks gray. It also has like stamps of butterflies and flowers. I really need to get rid of them. My floor is a light tan, it pretty much is an off white. My furniture is a wood design, not white. What colors would be really cool for a teen room? What "theme" would you go for? What colors of the blinds (window shades), bedding, and dresser ( I’m able to paint this and is currently a pastel pink) color?

A website with these colors would really help a lot.

Thanks.

What kind of window treatments do you recommend?

So I live in a new home. Pretty much, I have white walls with honey color wood trim, ie. floor boards, window base, and cupboards. I have vertical blinds that I’ve installed (white\cream color). My couch is a lighter beige. I really want to add some color to the living room by putting up some curtains. I have two big windows 70” X 71” and a sliding glass door 58" X 78" (maybe). I’m thinking I just need something to accent the window, not really cover the windows for privacy sakes (since I already have the blinds). I would probably be classified as a plain jane since I mostly have just a few pics on the walls and there does not seem to be a lot of style or personality in the room. I’m not sure what colors would look good with my boring decor and what I should use, example: scarves, valances or whatnot. Have any ideas?
